Ending the detox
Well the reason I have not blogged about my detox was on day 4 I developed this weird rash all over my face that burned and itched really really bad. I had not introduced anything new to my diet, or topically except for the detox. On day 5 it was seriously bad, my face was swollen two sizes larger than it already was, and my face felt like it needed to be peeled off, a friend of mine who happened to be a nurse told me that it was a serious allergic reaction to something and to get to an er or urgent care immediately. I wasn't too keen on that since those cost bookoo bucks, so I took an antihistamine and tried to wait it out. So far it has been working, but sadly the hives are not gone.....the detox was easy to stick to and I had not craved sugar after day 4 not even winking or nudging towards the cookies, so I would have definitely stayed on it if this allergic reaction did not occur. It should be day 6 now and the hives are still here, not as bad as day 5, but they are not fun at all! I will update more as the week goes on to see if it flares up again or not. Sadly though I'm assuming there is something in the detox that is causing this, since last night I was woken out of a dead sleep for a visit to the oval office (which was the first out of the ordinary time since I started the detox), and so I'm thinking it has taken this long to actually get into my system and work its evil magic... :( who knows!

Day 3 in review
Well today was interesting, I packed my bag so I could do my turbo-fire at the office and when I called my partner to see if she was in for today she said, "Nicole, its Wednesday, our break day, duah!" So, I decided today was going to be a good one! Boy was I wrong, spent another day crying for a cookie! I even ended up going to Publix, a local grocery store, and spending $30 on fresh cut produce, carrots, and salt free macadamia nuts (not sure if they are a fatty nut or not but I just kinda went with it because it wasn't listed on either the good nor the bad groups), because I had no clue what I wanted aside from that chocolate filled sugary pastry. I also didn't drink as much water as I needed to, and ended up with more than two headaches which was no fun. We don't really support pharmaceuticals since the law was passed allowing those companies to pretty much get away with murder, so we just kinda deal around these parts. I did however utilize those two headaches as reminders to drink more water. I also enjoyed a bowl of organic brown rice pasta with butter instead of sauce, which was a change from making two different dinners!
Today too,I have had a major hankering for a chicken breast, so I think that is going to be on the menu for tomorrow along with some potatoes and onions.
On a final note, aside from the cookie issue (which will be nice when they are all gone, can't rightly toss them they are homemade all organic cookies), it was a pretty good and relaxing day. Tomorrow starts another day of Turbo-Fire madness with a ton of work to do in the office, so I might be rather exhausted come bed tomorrow....blogging in the AM or next morning might be in order.

Day 2 of the Cleanse
Day 2:
It has started off good so far, woke up took the dosage required 2 pills each of the three bottles, and 40 drops of the not so amazing liquid herbs. I mixed the liquid herbs with water and fresh squeeze lemon juice (no sugar) to dilute the licorice flavoring (definitely not a fan of licorice), and I had a rice cake with almond butter for breakfast. I have my day 2 of turbo fire as well its the HIIT 20 class, and my best friend called me this morning to tell me she hurt all over but is still going to do it today so woot woot for us! I'm so happy to have a friend by my side to keep me motivated!
NOTE TO ALL having a friend there with you to either push or inspire is important for motivation!
Stepping on a scale once a week completely naked will also boost confidence....all those clothes 'weigh' you down :D.
And finally, doing a weekly meal plan will help keep you from making poor food choices!
More to come as the day progresses :)
Ok so it's the end of day two and I don't feel any different......I don't think I'm drinking enough water which isn't 'speeding' up the process, and I did have a minor melt down over some cookies my mom made for me and my kids. I know I shouldn't eat them I look like a beached whale with no excuse, but the fact I couldn't have one was killing me. My husband chased me down the hall a few times as I tried to sneak the bag to the back room to eat some, which shows that I have zero self control and am having the hardest time with this and it's only day two..... I did however get my turbofire class done with my bff again, which was super fun and I have a bit of pain in my back muscles from all the twisting and bending (good pain not ouch I'm about to die and need to see a neuro surgeon). Anyways, do not add the liquid drops to unsweetend tea with lemon juice....its just nasty. If you can't down it with just water, add a bit of fresh squeezed lemon juice (it takes the aftertaste of the nasties and masks it with a bite instead :) ) Hopefully tomorrow there won't be any fighting over cookies, or cry fests from sugar cravings :( ...it would help too if everyone I knew didn't want to eat cookies in front of me, but I can't help what others do. Thanks awesome Husband for keeping me motivated and keeping me from eating crap during this cleanse! Maybe I will stick with this whole diet change, and actually lose a few hundred pounds!!!

Day 1 of the Garden of Life Wild Rose Herbal D-Tox
I have made the decision to change my life, yet again, but this time with a good kick start. I know I'm addicted to sugar and sweets, but I wanted a good chance at actually succeeding in dropping a great deal of weight. I know I let myself go after I got married and started having kids (eating whatever I wanted), but a few years ago I saw a movie that changed my life. Since then, I have tried my hardest to eat all organic, natural, and local. At times it has been difficult, but now I want to actually go full force into a healthier lifestyle. My best friend, who looks fabulous and just had a baby, is helping to keep me motivated by starting the Turbo Fire program with me at the same time. We have planned on either doing it together through Skype (her having her copy playing on her end, and me with mine on my end) just to keep each other motivated while we live 500 miles away from one another. If we cannot Skype, we will fill each other in as to when we did it.
On another note, while I am doing this Turbo Fire program I will also be doing a total herbal D-Tox by Garden of Life. I was perusing the local herbal/natural market near me for something to cleanse my body of the impurities and to give me the umph I need to actually stay motivated for 20 days in order to stick with something to lose weight! You ask 20 days? Yes, it takes 20 days to form a habit, and all I need to do is go 20 days doing the same thing every day in order to do this and make it a part of my daily lifestyle. It's easy to get hooked on logging into your email or facebook, to see the daily drama or to figure out if you got any wicked awesome coupons in the in box, but its the anticipation which keeps you going back. I'm hoping that with this detox (which is 12 days long) and this work out program I can hopefully get in shape, drop a few dozen pounds, and get on a track for a healthier lifestyle.
Day 1:
I started this morning eating oranges (which wasn't the best idea since its on the not preferred list)with my daily dosage of the detox. I also put together some food items in the crock pot and rice cooker for lunch and dinner. To include organic brown rice and chicken broth (I used saffron for seasonings), cut organic potatoes and onions with organic olive oil, and I have some organic chicken breast defrosting for dinner. Other seasonings I've used include garlic powder (ran out of garlic and am in dire need to hit the whole foods), parsley, paprika, a pinch of salt (not really preferred but ok in moderation), and some basil. I'm hopefully going to enjoy my carb-ridden foods since they are highly preferred in the program. It is divided into 20% categories and 80% categories which is what your supposed to base your diet on, which I don't know if it will help or hurt the whole turbo fire effort, but we shall see!
more to come as the day progresses!
End of Day 1 in review:
So the day went great, after I left the post I started my Turbo Fire, Fire 30 and Stretch 10 class with my best friend and it felt great! For lunch I had a bowl of brown rice, potatoes, onions, and a small amount of butter (less than 1 tbl spoon) (they were done when I went to check on them so LUNCH was great!). I left after that to pick up some groceries since I was kind of out of everything, some of the things I got were Lundberg wild/brown rice cakes, raw almond butter (like peanut butter but nothing but almonds), frozen organic pureed winter squash, apples, peaches, cucumbers, peppers, eggs, palm nectar (like sugar but made from coconut/probably not recommended and will use sparingly)and some more chicken. I ended up having to go to work that afternoon so while there I snacked on rice cakes with almond butter which are awesome and really filling, and for dinner I had an egg and more potatoes. I was thoroughly exhausted today, because it said to not work out on the first few days since the cleanse is actually really draining. I felt it necessary to start working out since I was eating things I am not used to eating on a regular basis (butter, potatoes).
